Happy Halloween and Getting Back on the Horse...the Illustration Horse...

So it has been far, far too long since I posted anything on here! I had such an unproductive summer due to having to get a 'normal/boring' job to pay for life and then illnesses happened and all sorts but I am changing all of that as of last week! I'm back getting work done I've got a list of competitions I want to enter and I am determined to do this Illustration thing! So keep an eye out I will make a success of this if its the last thing I do. And here is a little Halloween picture to prove that I am back.

And if you really really like it you can buy it in my society6 shop right here!

Happy Halloween!

New Baby

Some more competition work. This time the theme is 'New Baby'. Struggled for ideas for this one so I think I'll just stick to these two!

More Female Patterns

Here are some more female pattern competition entries. I decided to just alter my previous 'Who Run The World' pattern to a 'Sugar and Spice' one because I liked it and wanted to use it.

Who Run The World?!

GIRLS!
Another female pattern picture I just did quickly but I don't think I'll be able to enter it because of copyright and stuff. .I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of Sasha Fierce!!

Blue or Pink?

I need an outside opinion! I've done these for the Tiger Print female pattern competition but I don't know which one looks best..I really like both. So any suggestions are welcome!

Hawkwood Competition Entry

This is my entry for a book cover competition set by Hawkwood Books! Its a good job I went to see my tutors about it today because I'd somehow given the author a completely different name which could have been embarrassing but it's all sorted now and ready to hand in! . . For some reason it looks fluorescent on here but it's not actually that bright in real life.

Some FMP Stuff!

A couple of my FMP pictures. They all still need a bit of tweaking especially the last one because I haven't tried to tackle his hands and feet on yet! And the butterfly one because I'm not happy with its eye! I've just got to keep trudging on! Just a few weeks left now..

FMP Ideas

These are some quick mock ups of one idea of part of my final major project. I want to create a little pack of fact cards about all the animals I'm using with a picture of the animal on the front and information about them on the back. This picture here isn't the one I'll use, this is just a section of a bigger picture I did earlier today!

Reforestation: Competition Entry

Finally a piece of finished work! This is my entry for a competition where we have to produce an illustration for an ethical, moral and worthwhile cause so I chose reforestation because I think it's important! Made partly out of paper and then edited together on photoshop.

Card Competition Ideas

A few variations of a Valentine's day card competition entry for Hallmark. Not sure which one I like best yet. I stole my ladybird picture idea with this but I think penguins are more romantic than ladybirds ..some how! That sounds ridiculous but its just the truth!

Quick Update

Just a little bit of sketchbook work for my FMP. Most of these sketches are ideas for a poster for the opera Iolanta. More to come soon!

Final Major Project Moodboard

This is my moodboard for my FMP. I wasn't really sure if I was doing it how I was meant to but then I decided it didn't really matter because it's full of stuff that inspires me and I think that's more important than whether or not it's right! The left side is full of illustrations that I like and in the style (cut out paper/card) that I want to do my final work in and then the right side is full of images of Russian landscapes/architecture and pattern because my project is going to be based on one of Tchaikovsky's opera's so I want there to be a bit of Russian influence in my final work! And that's about it really!! Excited to get started now.
